Gamma-ray buildup factors for five different dose responses up to 100 mfp for 25 elements and three compounds
The gamma-ray buildup factor is a physical quantity defined as the ratio of the gamma-ray transmission flux to the non-scattered flux for various elements in a one-dimensional infinite plane system, and is an important data used in the simple calculation of the point kernel method.
Gamma-ray buildup factors for five different dose responses up to 100 mfp for 25 elements and three compounds are evaluated by the Gtiet code (Invariant Embedding method) developed by Prof. Akinao Shimizu, former president of RADONet and former professor at Tokyo Institute of Technology. This evaluation value has been adopted in the American Nuclear Society Standard (ANSI/ANS-6.4.3-1991) and the Atomic Energy Society of Japan Standard (AESJ-SC-A005E: 2013).
